NEW YORK, NY—January 30, 2018—The American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science announced that Jill Moskowitz had joined the organization as Executive Director, Washington, D.C. and Mid-Atlantic Region.
Ms. Moskowitz will lead local philanthropic efforts to support the Weizmann Institute, a top-ranking, multidisciplinary research institution in Rehovot, Israel. In addition to deepening the American Committee’s relationships with existing Weizmann supporters in Washington, D.C., she will expand the organization’s activity and visibility throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Ms. Moskowitz brings to the American Committee a wealth of experience in Jewish philanthropy, having worked for decades in both the U.S. and Israel. Most recently, she served as National Director of Development at the Israeli American Council (IAC). Prior to IAC, she served as Senior Vice President for Global and Israel Philanthropy at the Jewish Agency for Israel. Her development expertise has benefitted many leading organizations throughout her career, including American Friends of the Hebrew University and BBYO.
In addition to her national and international experience, Ms. Moskowitz is a recognized local leader in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. She was the founding Executive Director of the Washington, D.C. Jewish Community Center, which established the annual Jill Moskowitz Volunteer Award in her honor. At the UJA Federation of Greater Washington, she served as Director of Gateways, overseeing an acculturation program for newly arrived immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
She holds a master’s in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as a bachelor’s in Hebrew culture and education from New York University.
