This installment in the “Window to the Campus” series “navigates” through the Weizmann campus, where Prof. Nachum Ulanovsky’s “bat cave” sets the theme, as he uses the tiny mammals to study navigation and other brain processes. Next we visit the Electron Microscopy Unit, where Dr. Sharon Wolf shows us how the high-tech microscopes reveal biological components at atomic resolution; the lab of Prof. Eli Zeldov, who investigates quantum phenomena; and the world’s most sensitive atomic charge detector in the lab of Prof. Shahal Ilani, whose equipment is so sensitive that it is in a vibration-proof room underground.
