Scientists at the Weizmann Institute have uncovered a fascinating genetic mechanism that promotes nerve regeneration. While injuries to the peripheral nervous system can repair over time, central nervous system (CNS) injuries—like those in the brain and spinal cord—typically don’t heal. Now, a family of RNA molecules may change that narrative.

This exciting research opens new possibilities for treating nerve injuries and degenerative brain conditions, such as strokes and ALS. While it's early stages, the insights into RNA-driven regeneration mark a promising step forward.
